PATRICK'S BACK: Wall Painting by Henry Boon

Henry Boon is a freelance illustrator currently living and working in Norwich, Norfolk. He is becoming a bit of a household name in these parts, with his lively characters and graphics regularly adorning local walls and windows as well as promotional material for events such as Tropico and Moosey Art. For MAY 2014 at The Bridge, Henry brings Patrick back as part of the launch for the eagerly awaited new SHhhh collection, dropping this month, where he makes a little appearance.

Not only representing SHhhh in a number of guises, Patrick’s Back coincides with the lead up to 2014’s World Cup Championship during which The Birdcage will be screening ALL England games in The Ballroom. Henry spent a day filling our walls with an energetic, hand-painted scene with Patrick throwing some hope-fuelled footie moves, spurring our boys on to victory!

Inspired by day-to-day things, it’s the simplicity and charm of Henry’s work which makes it so appealing. As a member of the KJA artists agency, his work has been featured at The Print Club London, Beach Gallery in Shoreditch and in Real World Magazine both in the UK and Germany. An example of his work can also be found on the outside of the pub in the form of the monochrome bird and hand from a while ago. As firm fans, it’s with great pleasure to see Patrick again but also welcome Henry Boon back to our walls.
