I SEE YOUR FACE: Portraits by Ajuanne Payne

Following Justina Gervyte’s colourful display of prints and collages, MARCH 2014 at The Bridge presents the debut solo exhibition of portraits by Ajuanne Payne. With her practice very much centred around the depiction of human expression with accurate attention to detail, Ajuanne strives to encapsulate a frozen moment in time, seizing not only the look but also the feelings of the subject in that instance. Gravitating towards images that have high levels of contrast between light and dark, she stubbornly uses a ballpoint pen as her preferred medium. The pieces in I See Your Face were drawn using black biro and ink.
